The Mexican Invention
Aug 19th
In one ovenable dish with lid:
1 amount of chicken
1 amount of canned tomatoes, onions, peppers and other interesting veg.
1 amount of taco/fajita spice
1 handful of finest cheddar
1 sprinkle of jalapeños
Whack in the oven, spread evenly in the dish covered in all the sauces+spices you like, lid on – wait 2 hours @ an average temperature.
Eat in some wraps, or with rice, add extra cheese / salad and enjoy!
I’ve literally just made this recipe up, ive never actually tried it, but im gona find out what it tastes like tonight – as i discovered all of the above ingredients therefore making this a super low cost dinner for 2-4.
An image google for Mexican Chicken suggests what this COULD look like:

iPhone 4, Android and the Decision Dilemma
Aug 3rd
So – what phone to buy? I was due an upgrade and spent weeks trying to figure out the best option.
In the end i chose the iPhone 4 as a test for 7 days, as it was my eventual preference – pending whether the reported problems actually exert symptoms in my real world use or not. And they didn’t.
My reasoning, explanation and justification (yes, these days you MUST justify your purchase of an Apple product if you want to keep any kind of reputation as a tech fan) are all to follow once i get another spare minute.

..more to come…
Ride2Work
Aug 3rd
So I bought a bike using the Ride2Work scheme, in short you pay over 12 monthly instalments from your pre-tax/NI income, VAT free. Saves roughly 42% over the year, and gets me £1000 worth of bike and gear for around £600. bargain.
First bit of “new” transport i’ve ever bought, just wish it rained less, and the shower in the office that i have to use on out of hours shifts was less parp. My Fuji Cross Comp:

So – as yet I’ve been doing the 7.1 mile ride in to work, and back again pretty much every day I’m working since acquiring the bike, plus the odd bike-ride. This takes roughly 35 minutes at reasonable speed, and 40-45 minutes if you relax. Easily speeds up my trip to the office, and it’s a lot more fun than the sweaty anti-social tube.
The cost saving is pretty awesome also – normally a tube pass for zones 1-2 is ~£100 a month but the bike is costing me ~£45 or something, saving me quite a bit – plus i sleep for longer, and get fit. win win all round.
I decided on a cyclo-cross bike for the added durability, slightly wider tyres and forks (for improved fork strength, compatibility and the option of semi off-road tyres), plus the extra set of cyclo-cross brakes (in the normal bike position) – which are very handy on London roads.
Oh, and as you’d expect you have a shower on arrival at the office – stops people’s bacon and onion armpits, turns out today storing a shower in the shower’s attached cloakroom is a faux pas according to the building landlord – mine along with ~10 other’s towels were confiscated today. Little do they know i broke in on my way home and got the bastard back.
Now i just need to find the perfect music for cycling in the morning (only one earbud in of course..). So far sad tunes make you go slow, trance you simply cant pedal fast enough to the beat and dnb makes you cycle dangerously – Any suggestions?
Synergy
May 13th
Now, I’d been told about this a few months back, i did even look into it and was pretty interested.. but its not until now that ive actually got this thing running that my jaw has dropped and im working 10 times faster than ever before with multiple machines on my desk.. i mean, just .. wow.
What an AWFUL ui and setup but my god is it a great bit of software. be right back, just gona browse a bit on my laptop, with the same mouse.. seemlessly. and then the laptop to the left of that one aswell.
Being a big fan of multiple monitors (currently running 3 on my desktop, and have been known to have had 4, plus 2 laptops and a spare PC.. so something around 7 going on at once), this now means i essentially have a software virtual KVM. KVMs are damn ugly and clunky, but this is cross platform, software based, and seemless!
