QoS for Wireless Networks

A short 5 page paper written on QoS for Wireless Networks, analysing current and future implementations and solutions.

Abstract:

Wireless networks are inherently different to that of traditional wired LANs. Fundamentally, one of the most basic differences is the change from a fixed to a mobile location, where an address is no longer a physical location, and an address will only reach as far as the wireless station (usually an Access Point). Wireless networks provide flexibility and ease of installation and maintenance, but currently suffer bandwidth constraints and potential for much greater error rates compared to their wired counterparts. This alone is enough of a reason to justify investigation of potential additional wireless network Quality of Service (QoS) techniques.

Epistemology and Computer Technology

A small module of study on the above title, producing the following paper.

What is true Artificial Intelligence and can it ever exist?

Abstract
While my dog is not human, she still exerts some aspects of intelligence that no computer seems to do on its own steam. Yes, robot dogs are now available in the shops, they wag their tails and simulate a mood of happiness or sadness based on the tone of the commanding voice. Is this Intelligence? My dog does not need programming to tell it to do this, it does not even need to be told to do this, it has developed its own experience its own desire to exert these emotions and reactions based on what goes on around it.

Snowing Sunday

Well, the first night of this so called “Ice Storm”. While ‘revising’ for final exam of the semester we discovered it to be snowing heavily outside during our trip to the Chinese take-away. Wondered out into the weather for some snow fun. Some photos:

after wondering to the main road we found ourselves in some seriously heavy snow, as with the third picture. The snow stopped us walking in one direction through fear of frostbitten eyes, or something. does that exist?
